Re: Capital Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance appropriating an additional $6,000,000 to the Puainako
Street Extension project. This amount covers only the Federal Government's portion or
80% of the $7,500,000 in change orders to the existing construction contract due to
differing site conditions and pavement/shoulder upgrade. The remaining 20% of the
funding will come from the State Department of Transportation.

A. REQUEST:
To amend Ordinance 01-56 to revise the cost for the PUAINAKO STREET EXTENSION
project appropriate an additional X6,000,000.00. This request is to cover the Federal funded
portion, which will be reimbursed.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION FUSE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDEDI:
The funds are necessary to cover $7,500,000.00 in change orders for the existing construction
contract due to differing site conditions and pavement/shoulder upgrade. Funding sources will
be 20%o State DOT and 80% Federal Highway Administration. This request is only the Federal
portion.
