WFE~RE~4S, the State of Hawaii Department of Health, Emergency Medical Services System
has authorized funding for EMS personnel to conduct community injury prevention projects; and
WR~R~o4S, Mr. David Cecil, a firefighter/MICT with the Hawaii County Fire Department
applied and was awarded a $2,000 grant to produce videos about "Soccer Injury Prevention"; and
WB~EI~EAS, the funds provided by the State of Hawaii Department of Health, are derived
from grants provided by the federal government; and
WH~RE~4S, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section ~6-7, requires that county departments obtain
the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting
action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any
funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those
powers.

that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement for a Grant Contract with the
State of Hawaii Department of Health.
~E IT ~UI$~I~IEI$ RESOLVEC fihat the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to sign the
above-referenced agreement and any related documents on behalf of the Office of the Mayor and the
County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter.
~F I1° FURTHER ICES®LVIED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit
copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Finance and Fire Departments, and the State
of Hawaii Department of Health.
