Re: Resolution Authorizing County to Enter into an Agreement
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the
U.S. Department of Justice for a Community Gun Violence Prosecution Program
Grant. This grant will be used to supplement the funding of two (2) Deputy
Prosecu>ding Attorney positions which will be assigned to prosecute serious violent
crimes involving guns.
The bill for an ordinance to appropriate this grant has passed 1st reading by the
Council. We would like to request a waiver from the Finance committee so this
resolution can be heard with its appropriation bill at the Council meeting scheduled
for April 17, 2002.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Office of the Prosecuting
Attorney.
