OIIII~~R~AS, the United States of America through the U.S. Office of National Drug Control
Policy has authorized funding towards the Hawaii County Police Department's HI Impact Project; and
111~O~I~R~AS, this grant will be used to combat the methamphetamine drug problem in the
County of Hawaii by conducting various sting operations; and
WB-~~R~AS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain
the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting
action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any
funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those
powers.

that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement for a Grant Contract with the
U.S. Office of National Drug Control Policy.

above-referenced agreement and any related documents on behalf of the Office of the Mayor and the
County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter.

copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Police and Finance Departments, and to the
U.S. Office of National Drug Control Policy.
