The people of Hawaii need to know what is happening here. A irradiation
facility is not the answer to agricultural diversity. We need to support our local farmers
by not buying mainland produce. We can support ourselves if only we as a whole fight
for it. We can not let nuclear waste come to our island for the sole purpose of greed
and ignorance. There are other means of economic opportunities. Open your eyes!!
No one I know will buy fruit that has a "irradiated" label stamp on it. Would you? Don't
let this happen!! Write to your county council members today and ask for a public
hearing on the Kona side. Let them know how you feel.
