We are writing to update you on our progress toward fulfilling the requirements of our rezoning
ordinance.
GeneraA progress
All of the major grading has been completed, for our roadway and building sites, access roads for
agriculture or landscaping, fire fighting, and for sedimentation ponds described below. Rock
areas have been ripped and trenched, for the domestic water system, power and telephone lines-
A pvc agricultural waterline has been installed underground, throughout the project, for dust
control and compaction, for eventual agricultural and landscaping pursuits, .and to aid in fire-
fighting. Culverts are in place in three of four drainageways.
Proposed Changes
We are in the process of applying for proposed revisions to the drainage system, including:
t. Sedimentation, or retention ponds, in place of drywells; to retain the limited rainfall
and sediment. The Hawaiian herbs ilima and uhaloa are re-establishing in these areas,
more readily than in other graded areas.
An added benefit of dedicated green zones is view preservation for building sites,
which have been established above the pond areas.
II. Gulch crossings with long gradual slopes, longer culverts, and smaller headwalls,
resulting in less guardrails, and a safer, and more natural look.
