Aloha!
I am writing to give my wholehearted support to the nomination of
Deborah J. Ward as a member of the Hawaii County Planning Commission.
I have known Ms. Ward for more than a decade and have worked with her
on many issues. She is extremely knowledgeable about precisely the sort
of issues that come before the Planning Commission. Equally important,
she wi:Ll be the first to acknowledge where her knowledge might be
limited, and at those times, she's eager, willing, and able to be
educated. She has an open mind and believes most strongly in the
principles of sound planning and reasonable growth.
Through her professional involvement with the University of Hawai i,
Ms. Ward has demonstrated time and again her gentle leadership skills
and her dedication to public service. I can think of few people more
qualified than she is to serve on the Planning Commission.
