Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 561, reports as follows:
Communication No. 561, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, dated
March 19, 2002, authorizes the acceptance of donations from Mr. Edward Fukuda, dba Kandi's
Drive Inn, Inc.
Mr. Edward Fukuda, dba Kandi's Drive Inn, Inc. has graciously donated $50.00 to the
Department of Parks & Recreation for the Recreation Division's Annual Higgest Easter
Egg Hunt.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Also, Pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code, any
donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of
Finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Mr. Edward Fukuda, dba Kandi's Drive Inn, Inc.,
56 West Kawailani Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance of the $50.00 donation from
Mr. Edward Fukuda, dba Kandi's Drive Inn, Inc.
