RE: Silva, et. al. v. County ®f I~aavaii, et. al.
CIV. IVO. 97=622
The Office of the Corporation Counsel, County of Hawaii, respectfully requests the
above matter be placed on the next available Council agenda for attorney-client
discussion in executive session. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss recent
billings received by the County of Hawaii from special counsel.
This request is made pursuant to Sections 92-5(4) and (8), Hawaii Revised Statutes, as
amended (hereinafter "HRS"), and is made for the reason we anticipate discussion on
questions and issues pertaining to the Council's powers, duties, privileges, immunities,
and liabilities. We also anticipate discussion on matters and information which are
protected by the attorney-client privilege of the Hawaii Rules of Professions! Conduct.
Specifically, some of the billings reflect contacts between the various defendants and
their attorneys.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.
