Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate the following individuals to the County of Hawaii
Transportation Commission:
C®uncil District 2 - Mr. Robert M. Kawakone is a lifelong resident of Hawaii and is a
retired sales manager for the Hawaii Medical Service Association. He is the current
president of the Waiakea Lions Club, past president of the Exchange Club and a former
member of the Lehua Jaycees. Mr. Kawakone states that he is a member of the
Democratic Party, and if confirmed, will fill a vacancy to expire on December 31, 2004.
C®uncil District 5 - Mr. Michael R. Williams is a six-year resident of Hawaii.
Mr. Williams is a former telecommunications and project manager for Sprint. He is
currently the owner, president and CEO of Uniserve Consultant. He has also served as
a teaching assistant at Waianae High School for students from other countries who had
limited knowledge of the English language. Mr. Williams states that he is not affiliated
with any political party, and if confirmed, will fill a vacancy to expire on December 31,
2004.
