Re: Resolution Authorizing the Sale by Negotiation of the former
Hamakua Sugar Company Lands Now Under the County
Ownership
Attached please find a copy of the above-referenced resolution that I am
submitting for the Council's review and consideration. This resolution is in
addition to Resolution No. 161-02, which was adopted on January 24, 2002,
authorizing sale by auction, land exchange by negotiation and short-term lease by
auction, sealed bids or negotiation. The Land Management Committee learned
that the County would receive a better value for its land through sale by
negotiation, rather than by auction.
Please refer this measure to its respective committee for discussion. Should you
