RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION AUTO~ORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE
THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR ONE (1) COMPACTOR
WHO=REAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other
obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one
fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, it is essential for the County of Hawaii to have adequate landfill equipment operating
seven (7) days per week for solid waste operations; and
WHEREAS, the County has one (1) 1993 compactor at the West Hawaii landfill which need to be taken
out of regular service due to maintenance costs which exceed its purchase price; and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into a five (5) year contract to lease with purchase options for
one (1) compactor for solid waste operations at the West Hawaii landfill.
NOW, THEREFORE, 03E IT RESOLVED I3Y THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF FOAWAI`I that the
Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement with purchase options for the
acquisition of one (1) compactor for solid waste operations at the West Hawaii landfill and that sufficient funds
be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the
agreement.
13E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk transmit copies of this resolution to the Mayor's Office and
the Departments of Finance and Environmental Management.
