NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Pursuant to the requirements of Section 19-90, Article 11, Chapter 19 of the Hawaii County
Code, notice is hereby given that the following public hearings will be held t~`~o~hci~(~thte ~
County of Hawaii for the purpose of considering real property tax rates for all classes of real property
in the County of Hawaii for Fiscal Year July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2003.
DATES: May 15, 2002 May 16, 2002
TIMES: 5:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m.
PLACES: County Building Royal Kona Resort
County Council Room Discovery Room
25 Aupuni Street 75-5852 Alii Drive
Hilo, Hawaii Kona, Hawaii
The County Council will consider tax rates within the following range of rates for all classes of
real property for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2003 (current real property tax rates for
Fiscal Year July 1, 2001 to June 30, 2002 are shodvn in bold):

E. Commercial 8.50-11.00 9.00-11.00 (10.00)
F. Industrial 8.50-11.00 9.00-11.00 (10.00)
G. Agricultural or Native Forest 8.50-11.00 9.00-11.00 (10.00)
H. Conservation 8.50-11.00 9.00-11.00 (10.00)
L Homeowner 4.45- 8.00 4.45- 8.00
The foregoing range of rates for all classes of property will be considered at the public hearing.
The tax rates for each property class would be fixed within the proposed ranges by council resolution.
The resolution fixing the rates will be placed on a subsequent council agenda, which will be noticed
according to law.
All interested persons are invited to attend and they shall be afforded the opportunity to be
heard. Those desiring to address the County Council should register prior to the convening of the
meeting. Those unable to attend may submit their written comments on the subject to the Hawaii
County Council, Hawaii County Building, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
The meeting place is accessible for persons with physical disabilities. Persons who need
special accommodations to attend this hearing should call 961-8255 by May 13, 2002. Persons using
TDDs may call 961-8521.
