Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 195-02, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 195-02, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 584, dated March 19, 2002, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from
Mr. Jack Armstrong and Ms. Sherrie Moore.
Mr. Jack Armstrong and Ms. Sherrie Moore has graciously donated one pair of Orange Wing
Amazons ($1,800/pair), one pair of Lilac Crown Amazons ($800/pair), one pair of Yellow
Crown Amazons ($500/pair), and their enclosures to the Department of Parks & Recreation for
the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo ($11,000). The total estimated value of this donation is estimated
at $14,100.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Jack Armstrong and Ms. Sherrie Moore, HI-BOX
4617, Kea'au, Hawaii 96749, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 195-02
and recommends its adoption.
