PC-74
PC-74 - 2 - April 16, 2002
Resolution No. 190-02, Draft 2, which included diacritical marks in "Ho`ea Road" and
"Honomaka`u Road" was circulated and approved by Your Committee.
Based on the testimony of >--lenry Ross, Committee Member Dominic Yagong stated that
he would like Your Committee to check the legality of these street names because some
names exceed 10 letters, the maximum allowed per Resolution No. 960-84.
Your Chair then mentioned if these names have been historically used , it is legal to use
them. She also stated if these names are changed now, it would be a disservice to the
community because they have always known these roads as such.
Your Committee did not entertain further discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Planning concurs with the intent and purpose of Resolution
No. 190-02, Draft 2, and recommends its adoption.
