Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution No. 191-02, transmitted
by Mayor Harry Kim, per Communication No. 575, dated March 25, 2002, regarding the
naming of streets in the County of Hawaii, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 191-02 authorizes the approval of the street name for the roadway in the
Ali`i Kehau Subdivision, North Kona, Hawaii.
The Planning Commission at its February 25, 2002 meeting approved the name for the
roadway in Exhibit "A" as follows:
Polinahe Way -meaning soft and gentle as a breeze
Pursuant to Section 22-35, Article 2, Chapter 22 of the Hawaii County Code, the
Council is authorized to adopt street names for Hawa`i County's unnamed roadways.
Your Committee did not entertain any discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Planning concurs with the intent and purpose of Resolution
No. 191-02, and recommends its adoption.
