REESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUN®S OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AN® OF MORE
TFIAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR FOUR (4) TRUCK TRACTORS
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring
payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, it is essential for the County of Hawaii to have a minimum of eleven (11) dependable truck tractors
operating seven (7) days per week islandwide for solid waste operations; and
WHEREAS, the County has one (1) 1990 and three (3) 1991 truck tractors with excessive high mileage, which need
to be taken out of regular service due to maintenance costs which exceed their valuation; and
WHEREAS, rental costs to replace the truck tractors while they are under repair could exceed $50,000; and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into a five (5) year contract to lease with purchase options for four (4) truck
tractors for solid waste operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVE® BY TFIE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Mayor is
hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement with purchase options for the acquisition of four (4) truck
tractors for solid waste operations and that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVE® that the Clerk transmit copies of this resolution to the Mayor's Office and the
Departments of Finance and Environmental Management.
