Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution No. 194-02, transmitted
by Mayor Harry Kim per Communication No. 578, dated March 25, 2002, regarding the
naming of streets in the County of Hawaii, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 194-02 authorizes the approval of the street names for the roadways
within the Kahauloa House Lots Subdivision, Kahauloa 1st, South Kona, Hawaii.
The Planning Commission at its February 25, 2002 meeting approved the names for the
roadways in Exhibit "A" as follows:
Kahauloa Road - after the land division
Kahauloa Street - after the land division
Manini Beach Road - after the name of the Beach
Pursuant to Section 22-35, Article 2, Chapter 22 of the Hawaii County Code, the
Council is authorized to adopt street names for Hawa`i County's unnamed roadways.
Your Committee did not entertain any discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Planning concurs with the intent and purpose of Resolution
No. 194-02, and recommends its adoption.
