I live in Kailua-Kona. I am a third grade teacher and just got home from one of my other part time jobs, so I couldn't attend the meeting at the Royal Kona tonight. I am appalled that you are supporting a tax increase! We do not reward children for poor performance, so why should the County Government get more money when they have mismanaged what they have. When the County shows they are not wasting money and are making every effort to make cuts and manage the current budget soundly, then perhaps they merit more money to spend on needed projects. The County has not earned a raise! If I can't meet my expenses, I make personal cutbacks in my lifestyle. No body just gives me more money. Please do not support this tax increase. Mahalo.
