NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in compliance with Chapter 19, Article 11, Section 19-90(b)
of the Hawaii County Code, as amended, the County Council of the County of Hawaii will be
holding a meeting on the following date, time and place for the purpose of fixing the real
property tax rates for the fiscal year July 1, 2002, to June 30, 2003.
DATE: June 5, 2002 (Wednesday)
TIME: 9:00 a.m.
PLACE: Councilroom, Hawaii County Building
25 Aupuni Street
Hilo, Hawaii
The real property tax rates for the fiscal year July 1, 2002, to June 30, 2003, shall be fixed as
follows:
Classes of Property Building Land

Apartment 9.85 9.85
Hotel/Resort 9.85 9.85
Commercial 9.85 9.85

Agricultural or Native Forest 9.85 9.85
Conservation 9.85 9.85
Homeowner 5.55 5.55
These rates would be fixed by the County Council upon its adoption of
Resolution No. 219-02. If the Council does not act upon Resolution No. 219-02 on or before
June 20, 2002, the tax rates as previously set shall be applicable to fiscal year 2002-2003.
All interested persons are invited to attend and they shall be afforded the opportunity to
be heard. Those desiring to address the County Council should register prior to the convening of
the meeting. Those unable to attend may submit their written comments on the subject to the
Hawaii County Council, Hawaii County Building, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
The meeting place is accessible for persons with physical disabilities. Persons who need
special accommodations to attend this meeting should call 961-8255 by June 3, 2002. Persons
using TDDs may call 961-8521.
