From Controller Deanna Sako, dated May 22, 2002, transmitting a Report of
Transfers Authorized showing transfers made from May 1 through May 15, 2002,
and copies of the approved transfer forms.
Comm. 466.2: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE BY NEGOTIATION OF THE
(Res. 209-02) FORMER HAMAKUA SUGAR COMPANY, INC. LANDS NOW UNDER
COUNTY OWNERSHIP IN ADDITION TO THE AUTHORIZATION PROVIDED
IN RESOLUTION NO. 161-02 (SALE BY AUCTION, LAND EXCHANGE BY
NEGOTIATION, AND SHORT-TERM LEASE BY AUCTION, SEALED BIDS
OR NEGOTIATION).
From Councilmember Dominic Yagong, dated May 2, 2002, transmitting the above
resolution. The Land Management Committee, established by the Finance Director
and composed of County personnel with expertise or interest in the County's
management of its real property resources for the purpose of reviewing County land
management issues and making recommendations to the Finance Director, learned
that the County would receive a better value for its land through sale by negotiation,
rather than by auction.
Comm. 627: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 4, SECTION 24-19,
(Bill 216) HAWAII COUNTY CODE (1995 EDITION), RELATING TO VEHICLE
REGISTRATION (by establishing a new annual County registration fee and
increasing related vehicle fees)
From Finance Director William Takaba, dated May 1, 2002, transmitting the above
bill. The County's cost of providing vehicle registration services has risen over the
years yet the fees have remained the same. The annual fee and rate increases are
intended to generate more revenues to maintain these services.

Comm. 640: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY
(Res. 216-02) DONATION OF $10,000 THAT WILL BE USED FOR THE HEATING OF THE
KONG COMMUNITY AQUATIC CENTER SWIMMING POOL
From Finance Director William Takaba, dated May 14, 2002, transmitting the above
resolution. The donation is being made by various individuals, organizations and
businesses and will be used to reimburse the electricity costs incurred to heat the
pool.
