As Kona residents of IS years, my husband and I are deeply
concerned about Che proposed irradiation plant that is now under
consideration by the Council.
There is ample evidence that this would bring a re~l danger into
our community, and yet Chere has been no hearing fOr the public
on this side of the Island.
The expenditure of $2,000>000+++ of the taxpayers'jmoney on
such a scandalous project: seems [o us indefensible)
k'e urge all Council members to read Che Viewpoint ~rr.icle in
today's West Hawaii Today newspaper. Signed by nipe respected
local physicians, it outlines the frightening heal~h and safety
risks involved in this project.

1Je urge you to make certain that there is a ha+aring in Kona,
so that other informed people can add to our knowledge about
the dangers, both physical and financial, of this project.
