Re: General Plan Revision
Dear Councilperson Leithead-Todd:
Hawaii Electric Light Company has had the opportunity to review the proposed
changes to the Hawaii County General Plan. it is evident that the Hawaii County
Planning Department has conducted, through a public process, a thorough analysis
of Hawaii County in order to make the proposed changes to the Land Use Pattern
Allocation Guide (LUPAG) Maps.
The proposed revised General Plan maps the existing and future development for
our island. We are pleased to see that the proposed LUPAG maps designate land
use based on current use as well as use planned for the future. Respectively, the
proposed changes for the Hawaii Electric Light Company's (HELLO) Waimea
Raseyard and the Keahole Power Station are very appropriate.
