Dear Sirs:
I am in opposition to public funding of what should be a private enterprise, an
irradiation plant. If there is a business willing to make this venture, LET THEM! The
national trend is toward privatization not socialism with public acquisition of
businesses. Instead, please spend my taxes on clean public restrooms, expanded
park facilities and mowing the roadsides for beauty and safety.
As to individual pertormances at the hearing. Chung is out of line with his desire to
"control" The county has done a poor job monitoring gas emissions at the geothermal
plant in Puna, what leads a citizen to anticipate better monitoring of an irradiation
plant. Hopefully the plant will be sited in Chung's district next to his house where he
can keep an eye on things. Second, Where was AI Smith? Hiding behind the door
again laughing at Puna for reelecting him? Better to take some stand than giggle in the
halls like I usually see him doing.
I have been told by Norm Oleson that this administration is watching me, well,
gentlemen I am watching you, and it isn't a very pretty sight.
