in Kona Hillcrest and who are receiving the notice about the 808 329-1110 • Voice

actions are taken in these forums without adequate time or
understanding by the general public to effectively communicate
their thoughts on subjects of personal concern.

and your neighbors. 'The Hawaii County government is becoming increasingly concerned
about "connector roads" throughout the island and, in general, I believe this is good.
However, now they are asking us to make the driveway we had planned through
our project to become a "connector road" through Kona Hillcrest. When we met with a
group of Hillcrest homeowners in January of 2001, you had told us you wanted an

I am writing to you now to request that you communicate to your county officials
what your feelings are about their proposal. Kathy Kuikahi, who lives in the subdivision,
has graciously volunteered to help coordinate your efforts in this regard and if you have
any further questions, please feel free to call her at 329-0611.
I am also enclosing a listing of all the county officials who will either have a
strong say in what happens or have already voiced their desire to make this driveway into
a "connector mad". T'm also enclosinf.7 a map that shows where the nronosed change
would occur as well as a form that you could use to communicate with. However,
remember the more your message is personalized, probably the greater the impact.
Thank you very much for taking the time to contribute to what we believe will be
in the best interests of all current and future homeowners in our neighborhood, but also
our keikis.
