MY THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS CONCERNING THE PROPOSED "
CONNECTOR ROAD" FROM HUALALAI VILLAGE THROUGH KONA HILLCREST ON LELEHUNA STREET:
When I first heard that the commission was consideri~ the requirement of a connector road throuah the Hualalai
Vlllaae Droject and then through our sub-division I thought back on when I lived in Alii Kai Sub D'evisiond how the
children DBaved in the road. Then I remembered the feelings I had when the county opened the road between Alii
Drive and Kuakini Hiahwav. Royal Poinciana became a dangerous road. Children no longer could Dlav safe in the
front of their homes Speeding vehicles would pass the school buses ana d „flv" down the road. That is the reason I
declined the offer to®purchase the home I was renting. When we found this home I liked the fact that the
subdivision is for the most part quiet Nei hg hors look out for each other Christmas time the maiority will decorate
their homes an~ards.
The children have a Dark here to Slav in, although there are no plavaround equiament~ there is a volleyball court
that is hiahl~ used by large families (20 and more Little league ball is Dlayed here each week during their season
And lt is that time that concerns me the most. Oni Oni Road is narrow, especially at the park area. Children run back
and forth to their cars. You can only g_et one car through that area at a time.
Sy putting a connector road through this area you would be attp ina a lot of children at risk It would be setting the
area uD for a !ot of accidents.
I'm sure that if~ou were to come to the subdivision and look at the streets and the children and the cars that you
would agree with us We ask that you would not put a connector road throuah this area.
When the Alii Parkway is built we will have the connector road that is needed for the area.
PBease reconsiderF Please listen to the Deople who will be affected daib in a negative manner
PBease do not make a decision that is not safe WE all need to learn from the mistakes of Alii Kai Subdivision and not
repeat it here in Hillcrest I thank xou for your time And aaain I invite you to come and walk throuah our subdivision
when the children are home and lu avin~g the streets Or waiting at one of the 3 school bus stops on Oni Oni Street.
