This is the State's portion of the funding that is necessary to cover the $7,500,000 in change orders for the existing construction contracts due to differing site conditions and pavement/shoulderupgrsdes. The Federal portion of this project's funding has already been appropriated. In order to expedite this matter, the Department of Public Works would like to request a waiver from the Finance committee and have this bill heard at the Council meeting scheduled for July 3, 2002. Pursuant to Section 1(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review.
