The first reading of the filing by the County Council will be held on June 19, 2002 with the second reading on July 3, 2002. We responded (see enclosed HCDC1-~ letter to Mr. AI Inoue, dated June 18, 2002) to Mr. AI Inoue's letter of information dated June 7, 2002 and informed him that we have not yet received written response to our previous concerns. In a telephone conversation with Ms. Nancy Surns (County of Hawaii), she explained that our concerns are being addressed. The proposed 14'-1"x9'-10" drainage culvert discharging adjacent to our property has been relocated. Dust will be mitigated by landscaping and the noise should not be a factor because the highway has been downgraded to a two-lane parkway with speed limits from 25 to 35 miles per hour. We have requested written confirmation of the mitigating measures discussed above and the most recent drawings that show the work adjacent to our property from the Department of Public Works (see enclosed HCDCI-I letter to Mr. Dennis Lee, dated June 18, 2002). We also requested a copy of the noise study to ensure that the noise levels are acceptable to our federally assisted low-income residential project per the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requirements.
