As a full-time student at the Univer , I have heard both sides of the irradiation plant debate, and I am convinced that B ER SOLUTIONS EXIST We do not want to solve one problem with an even big r one. My father was a physicist who worked for decades on the safety aspects of p eetime uses of nuclear energy. He let me know that there are TREMENDOUS ON ING PROBLEMS related to using radioactivity in the manner proposed, not just in th hnology itself, but in the UNKNOWN and UNTESTED health hazards which 'st in the use of produce so treated. If someone, for whatever reasons, inks that it is a good plan to jump right in and support this WITHOUT KNOWING OUCH ABOUT IT, (AS HA~,JU T R - NTi Y B P LI ITT Y F R p 1 H T N - 01) they should first educate themseff on the Other side of the issue. We all know money is behind the pr otion of this idea.
