Re: Capital Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance adding the Kawailani Street Bridge Replacement project
for $5,000,000 of Federal funds and for $1,000,000 of State funds to the Capital Budget.
This project replaces the hydraulically inadequate bridge and includes the upstream and
downstream channel improvements.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Department of Public Works.

A. REQUEST:
Amendment to Ordinance Bill 02-77 to add Kawailani Street Bridge
Replacement project: Work to include replacing the hydraulically
inadequate bridge including upstream and downstream channel
improvements. This appropriation for $1,000,000 of State funds and
5,000,000 in Federal funds and will be used for construction of the
project.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL Sf-BEETS AS NEEDED?:
The Governor has agreed to appropriate $1,000,000 for the Kawailani
Street Bridge Replacement project, see attached. In addition, we plan to
include this project on the next STIP list for Federal funding.
