Dear Chairman Chung:
Re: Ouarterly Reports -Communications 66.3, 66.4,_66.5 and 66.6
On July 30, 2002, Gerald Takase, Assistant Corporation Counsel, attended the Finance
Committee meeting. Mr. Takase indicated that there were several concerns raised by the
members of the Finance Committee concerning the above referenced communications. This
letter is submitted to respond to those concerns.
First, we apologize for the lateness of three of the four quarterly reports that were
submitted pursuant to Section 2-9 of the Hawaii County Code. We will submit the quarterly
reports on a timely basis. We envision the quarterly reports to be filed with the County Council
within a month after the end of a quarter of the fiscal year.
Second, we will, henceforth, attach a legend or key to explain the abbreviations, such as
PD, BI, PIP, C, C/S, etc., that are written on the spread sheets.
Third, we will note on the spread sheets which settlements were previously approved by
the County Council.
