WFlEREe4S, the Hilo Rotary Club Foundation and the American Youth Soccer Organization Region 274
have donated a concrete slab and a portable tent shelter to the County of Hawaii; and
WO-lEREAS, this donation, which has a total estimated value of $24,350, will be used for soccer-related
activities, requiring protection from the weather, at the Hilo Bayfront soccer fields; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY O1F 6~AWA!`I that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE iT FURT~EER RESOLVE® that a letter of appreciation be sent to the Hilo Rotary Club Foundation,
c/o Mr. Newton Chu, 100 Pauahi Street, Suite 206, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 and to the American Youth Soccer
Organization Region 274, c/o Mr. Dave Brown, P.O. Box 6845, Hilo, Hawaii, 96720, acknowledging this
generous donation.
