Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 226-02, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 226-02, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 694, dated July 15, 2002, authorizes the payment of funds of a later tiscal year and of more
than one fiscal year for amulti-year lease for a copy machine.
The Department of Planning's West Hawaii Office wishes to enter into alive-year lease
contract for a copy machine. Funds would be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated costs.
Pursuant to Section 10-1 1, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, (ease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later tiscal year must he approved by
resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 226-02
and recommends its adoption.
