Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 228-02, reports as fi~llows:
Resolution No. 228-02, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via COmmunlCdtlOn
No. 709, dated August 1, 2002, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal yea?• and of more
than one fiscal year for amulti-year lease for a copy machine.
The Department of Civil Service wishes to enter into alive-year lease contract for a copy
machine. Funds would be budgeted in future tiscal years to cover the anticipated costs.
Pursuant to Section 10-1 1, Hawaii County Charter, any contract. lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds fmm the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 228-02
and recommends its adoption.
