Your Committee on Finance. to which was referred Bill No. 250. reports as follows:
Bill No. 250, transmitted by Director of Finance William 'Takaba, via ComlllUnlcatl011 No. 704,
dated July 22, 2002, amends Ordinance No. 02-77, as amended, the Capital Budget. ending
,Tune 30, 2003, by adding the following project:
PUBLIC WORKS:
Pohakealani Road Culvert 1 10-399-5393.51 $200.000
Funds for this project shall be provided from general obligation bonds, capital projects, fund-
fund balance and/or other sources.
Funds will be used to construct a culvert under Pohakealani Road in Pohakea Homesteads. The
existing road fords an unnamed intermittent natural drainage way. Occasionally, heavy rains
create flows across the road that cannot be crossed. Because Pohakealani Road is the only route
to some homes, families are sometimes separated from their homcs or from each other f
or one or
two days. This project will greatly reduce the number of these kinds of occurrences.
Some members of Your Committee questioned the lack of a known funding source.
For informational purposes. Mr. Tyler voted kanalua twice.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of E3ill No. 25U and
recommends it pass first reading.
