Post Harvest Treatment Facility (FOOD IRRADIATION FACILITY)
Greetings:
The underground fire burning next to the police station in Kona at
the old dump, is an unfortunate problem.
Bill 77: A $10 Million Bond plus interest to close the dump at
revered Pu'uanahulu is an unfortunate waste of BORROWED money.
The Hilo dump was supposed to be closed last year by the EPA.
The County is unable to manage this island's rubbish, Why is
the County BORROWING $2 Million, Bill 62 to fund a PRIVATE lethal
radioactive Irradiation Facility?
Mahalo plenty to Council Members C. Tyler and J. Reynolds for
voting "NO" on Bill 62, I pray there will be additional "NO" votes today.
Our children of Puna are in desperate need. The proposed loan
of $10 Million, Bill 77 & borrowing $2 Million to fund a PRIVATE
Irradiation Facility, Bill 62 are insane proposals.
A borrowed $12 Million could be better spent on a recycling
program benefiting the Big Island in a cost effective manner. Or to finish
the soccer field in Keaau, which wcas dedicated in Lorraine Inouye's
term of Mayor.
Please, let common sense prevail, vote "NOl" on both Bill 62
and Bill 77. Please do not vote to bring lethal radioactive material to
the Big Island when the County is unable to manage this island's
solid waste (rubbish). ~N~ C ~P
