Each year, we have been supported by the Hawaii County Council, which has provided the funds for buses to bring in seniors from the outlying rural areas of our island. The upcoming East Hawaii PrimeTime Health Fair will be held on Friday, October 18, at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel (see attached flyer). We are very excited to have Dr. Shintani coming to speak on "The Good Carbohydrate Revolution" this year. His message will be heard by approximately 600-700 seniors coming from the Honokaa, Hamakua, Hilo, Puna and Kau districts. The West Hawaii PrimeTime Health Fair will be held next Spring, and will include approximately 600 seniors from the Waimea, Kohala, Kona, and Oceanview districts. We would like to ask for your approval to use $4,000 from the Hawaii County Council's contingency fund for these two PrimeTime Health Fairs this fiscal year. Please call me if there are any questions at 961-8726. Mahalo for your support! G~`~C~~'^ a.
