Re: Capital Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance adding the Hilo Traffic Circulation and Improvement
Study project for $100,000 to the Capital Budget. This project includes a traffic study of
Kino`ole Street and Kilauea Avenue from Ponahawai Street to Pu`ainako Street.
Alternatives to improve traffic circulation will then be developed.

A. REOUEST:
Amendment to Ordinance Bill 02-77 to add the Hilo Traffic Circulation
and Improvement Study project. Work to include a traffic study of
Kinoole Street and Kilauea Avenue from Ponahawai Street to Puainako
Street. Based on the traffic study, alternatives to improve traffic
circulation will be developed. This appropriation for $100,000 of
Federal funds. The matching County funds will be provided by the in-
house labor charges and/or Traffic Division operation and maintenance
funds.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
This project has been approved for State Planning and Research (SPR)
funding.
