Arakaki and Members of the County Council County of Hawaii Hilo, HI 96720 Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members: It is my pleasure to inform you that I have appointed the following individuals to the County of Hawaii Family Violence Advisory Commission. • Jacqueline Watanabe is a life-long resident of Hawaii. She is currently the Director of Human Services for David S. DeLuz, Sr. Enterprises, Inc. Ms. Watanabe has served as first and second vice president and secretary for the Kanoelehua Industrial Area Association. She has also served as president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer of Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). Ms. Watanabe is a member of the Rotary Club of South Hilo and is a director for People Attentive to Children (PATCH). She states that she is not affiliated with any political party. • Linda L. A. ~ialsted is a life-long resident of Hawaii. Ms. Halsted has served as a psychiatric social worker with the State of Hawaii and as a self-employed clinical social worker. She has previously served on the Family Violence Commission. Ms. Halsted also served on the board of the Awareness House and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She states that she is a member of the Democratic Party. • Linda S. Bluffer is asix-year resident of Hawaii. She has served as a mental health counselor, a Social Services case manager/therapist, and currently is a program director for the Turning Point for Families. Ms. Stutter has been on the Family Visitation Advisory Board, and currently is with the Prosecutor's Domestic Violence Interagency Team. Arakaki and Members of the County Council Page 2 September 12 2002 • Lee Lord is a 17-year resident of Hawaii and is the current executive director for the Turning Point for Families. Mr. t_ord is a member of the New Hope Church-Volcano, the Rotary Club of South Hilo, the Hawaii State Coalition Against Violence, the Hawaii Youth Services Network, and the Western States Youth Services Network. He states that he is not affiliated with any political party. • Alexander J. Graves is a 12-year resident of Hawaii and is currently a detective with the Hawaii County Police Department. Mr. Graves serves as a co-chair with the County Prosecutor's Domestic Violence Interagency Team. He is a torch run leader for the Special Olympics. Mr. Graves states that he is not affiliated with any political party. • Emily 1. Naeole is a 45-year resident of Hawaii. She has served with the Department of Education as a substitute teacher, kupuna/teacher's aid at Pahoa High and Intermediate School. She currently works at Hui Ho'ola Ona Nahulu of Hawaii under the Drug Addiction Services of Hawaii (DASH). Ms. Naeole has served as president of the Maku'u Farmers Association, and is currently a board member. She is with the Women's Ministry/Pahoa Assembly of God Church. She also served as vice president of Pahoa High and Intermediate PISA and as a volleyball coach at the Pahoa High and Intermediate School. Ms. Naeole states that she is a member of the Democratic Party. • Patti A. harry is a 51-year resident of Hawaii. Ms. Barry is a retired realtor who devotes her time to the Ocean View Community. She has served as past vice president and director for the Ocean View Community Association. She is a vice president and director for the Hale Ola Ka'u and is a member of the Supervisory Social Responsibility Committee with the Ka`u Credit Union. She is a disaster responder with the American Red Cross. Ms. Sarry states that she is a member of the Republican Party. • Karen M. Kudlo is an 11-year resident of Hawaii and is the owner of Treasure Island Thrift Shack. She serves as vice president of the Board of Directors of Kainaliu Town. Ms. Kudlo also serves as a little league president, and president/treasurer of her school's Parent Teacher Association. She states that she is not affiliated with any political party. Wolfe is an 18-year resident of Hawaii who is currently a housewife/mother and community service volunteer. Ms. Wolfe serves as a chaplain for the Kona League of Republican Women and is a member of its executive board. She also serves as a volunteer with the Ironman Triathlon. Ms. Wolfe states that she is a member of the Republican Party. • ®orothee J. Auldridge is a 16-year resident of Hawaii and currently serves as Island of Hawaii YMCA's Mediation Family Life director. She has previously served on the Family Violence Commission. Ms. Auldridge volunteers with the Kuikahi Mediation Center, West Hawaii Mediation, as a mediator. She works with mediation programs island-wide through the Children's Justice Task Force on both the state and county levels. Ms. Auldridge states that she is not affiliated with any political party. All terms are co-terminous with the Mayor.
