Dear Nancy,
We break our necks to keep alien species out of Hawaii. So why let
in genetically modified species?
Even "controlled" plantings of genetically modified species can cross-
pollinate neighboring organic fauns, pushing down the value of the no-longer-
organic product. And genetically modified plants threaten the value of Kona
coffee as a heritage coffee. Over 600 jobs could be lost.
I support the moratorium on the release and planting of genetically
modified coffee plants in the Districts of North and South Kona,
