REDO TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII COST OF GOVERNMENT COMMISSION From Mayor Harry Kim, dated September 5, 2002, submitting frn- confirmation the appointment of Mr. Richard P. Rego of Council District 6 to the County of Hawaii Cost of Government Commission. A life-long resident of Hawaii. Mr. Rc~~o is self-employed in the construction industry. If confirmed, he will serve a term to end when the Commission terminates in December, 2002, replacing Lloyd Van de Car, who resigned. Comm. 736: APPOINTMENT OF WILLIAM J. TAYLOR TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII PENSION BOARD From Mayor Harry Kim, dated September 10, 2002, submittin~~ for confirmation the appointment of Mr. William J. Taylor of Council District 7 to the County of Hawaii Pension Board. A 20-year resident of Hawaii, Mr. Taylor is aself=employed farmer and builder. Not affiliated with any political party, if confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31, ?006. ELEMENT AND POSITION STATUS OF THREE (3) WATER SAFETY OFFICER (TEMPORARY) TO HALF-TIME (1/2T) AND PERMANENT (assigned to West Hawaii beaches) From Finance Director William Takaba, dated September 10, 2002, transmitting the above resolution in order to meet the staffing operations at the County's West Hawaii beaches and in order to be in compliance with lahor laws. Com?1~. 742: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 02-77, AS AMENDED, (Bill 259) RELATING TO PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2002 TO .TUNE 30, 2003 (by adding the Hilo Traf~tic Circulation & Improvement Study b ay dding Federal Funds - $100,000) From Finance Director William Takaba, dated September 1 1, 2002, transmitting the above bill. This project includes a traffic study of Kino'ole Street and Kilauea Avenue from Ponahawai Street to Pu`ainako Street. Alternatives to improve traffic circulation will then be developed. Comm. 744: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATLR (Res. 244-02) FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FUR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR A COPY MACHINE (for Department o1~Puhlic Works Administration office) From Finance Director William Takaba, dated Septembce 1 1, 2002, transir~itting the above resolution. The copy machine currently being used is over 9 years old, requires frequent service calls, and the replacement parts arc ditticult to locate.
