Comm. 708: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER l5, ARTICLE 17, OF THE
(Bill 252) HAWAI`[ COUNTY CODE 1983 (1995 EDITION), RELATING TO VETERANS
ADVISORY COMMITTEE ADDING MILITARY ORDER OF THE PURPLE
HEART AND DELETING SUBSECTION
From Parks and Recreation Director Patricia G. Engelhard, dated August I, 2002,
transmitting the above bill. Informs the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Hilo
Chapter No. 731, in June 2002, received its recognition charter to Congressionally
chartered Military Order of the Purple Heart of the United States of America, Inc.,
and in recognition of this newly chartered veterans organization, they would like to
increase the membership of the Veterans Advisory Committee to 16 in order to
include a representative of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
