Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Gary N. Yoshiyama of Council District 2 to the
County of Hawaii Liquor Commission. Mr. Yoshiyama is a lifelong resident of
Hawaii and is employed by the Hawaii Government Employees Association. He
also serves on the Hawaii County Workforce Investment Board and the Hawaii
County Community Services Committee. In the past, he has served as a Hawaii
County Charter commissioner and a board member of the Hawaii Island United
Way. Mr. Yoshiyama states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If
confirmed, he will serve a term expiring on December 31, 2003, replacing
Mr. Sidney Lee, who has resigned.
