SUBJECT: Acceptance of Marijuana Eradication Funds
Thank you for your memorandum dated September 12, 2002 confirming your attendance
at the next Hawaii County Council, Committee on Finance Meeting scheduled for
September 24, 2002. Due to a full schedule of Committee Meetings on this day it would
be difficult to place you on the afternoon agenda to address issues raised regarding the
department's federally funded marijuana eradication program.
Per a telephone conversation on September 18, 2002 with Council Aide Laura Murashige
and your Secretary Ms. Lynn Miyamoto, we look forward to you being present at the
meeting of Tuesday, October 8, 2002. Ms. Miyamoto confirmed that you would be
available. Ms. Murashige will notify you once the agenda is posted and confirm the time.

SUBJECT : ACCEPTANCE OF MARIJUANA ERADICATION FUNDS
This memorandum is to conf rm my attendance at the next Hawaii County Council, Committee
on Finance Meeting scheduled for September 24, 2002.
I wish to address the County Council on issues raised regarding our department's federally
funded marijuana eradication program and answer questions from the Council regarding these
issues.
Due to a conflict in my current schedule I am requesting to be placed on the afternoon agenda for
the meeting. Please have your staff notify my Secretary Ms. Lynn Miyamoto at 961-2309 with
the time of the meeting or if there are any schedule changes.
