11VHEI~E,AS, the Department of Health of the State of Hawaii has authorized funding for the
County of Hawaii ,through its Department of Public Works, to contract with a professional consultant
to revise Hawaii County Code Chapter 10 (Erosion and Sedimentation Control), and develop and
implement training for contractors, engineers, and other interested people; and
9dldl°IE~EAS, the funds provided by the Department of Health for the professional consultant
are derived from grants provided by the federal government; and
NVI°~EREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain
the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting
action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any
funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those
powers.

that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract for Goods and Services ADM. SERV.
OFFICE LOG NO. 03-014 with the Department of Health, State of Hawaii, for a professional
consultant to revise Hawaii County Code Chapter 10 (Erosion and Sedimentation Control) and
develop and implement training therefor.
~E IT Fll~THER DES®L~1iE~ that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to sign the
above referenced Contract and any related documents on behalf of the Office of the Mayor and the
County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter.
~E IT' ~L~R~`I~EI~ RI~SO~VE® that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copies of
this resolution to the State of Hawaii Department of Health, the Office of the Mayor, and the
Departments of Public Works and Izinance.
