Your Committee on Finance, to which was refierred Resolution No. 230-02. reports as lollows:
Resolution No. 230-02, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba. ~°ia Com?t~unication
No. 716, dated August 7, 2002, authorizes the acceptance of a donation fi•om the Hilo Rotary
Club Foundation and the American Youth Soccer Organization Region 274.
The Hilo Rotary Club Fowldation and the American Youth Soccer Organization Region 274 has
graciously donated a concrete slab and a portable tent shelter to the Department of Parks &
Recreation for the Hilo Bayfront soccer fields. The value of this donation is estimated
at $24,350.00.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on bchall~af the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Hilo Rotary Club Foundation, c/o Mr. Newton Chu,
100 Pauahi Street, Suite 206. Hilo, Hawaii 96720 and to the American Youth Soccer
Organization Region 274. c/o Mr. Dave Brown, P.O. Box 6845. Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent ot~Resolution No. 2,0-02
and recommends its adoption.
