Dear Mr. Chung:
RE: Proposed Ordinance Creating a Permanent Cost of
Government Commission
We respectfully ask the enclosed ordinance creating a permanent Cost of
Government Commission be introduced to the Finance Committee and Council.
Presently, the Charter-created Cost of Government Commission is nearing the
end of its term. The Commission feels they have only "scraped the surface" with
respect to the work they wish to accomplish. However, despite the limited life of
this commission, they will submit their report and disband by the end of this
calendar year.
A permanent Cost of Government Commission will provide members of our
public the opportunity to review County operations on an ongoing basis, and
make recommendations to the Mayor and Council.
