As was stated in West Hawaii Today, in a Viewpoint article on May 7, 1997, by
nine of pur physicians, the council does not at this time "know the full
implicat'ons" that passage of this bill can mean for everyone who is living on the
Big Island.
Why m~st there suddenly be such urgency to rush to approve the creation of
somethi g that can have permanent consequences? More time must be taken to
weigh a I the considerations of such a decision.
