mehamoba Investment Corporation (KIC) submits this liter w testimony to support of
Bill 263, Communication No, 757 requesting an amendment to the Hawaii County Capital
Improvement (CIF) Budget of SS tnWjon for improvemeiats to Alai Drive between the
®haameha III Road and Kasleiupaapaa greet intersectional in Keaubou, Kona, whieb wa
understand will be n up with the County Council Flu*xce Committee at its meeting on
October 8, 2002.
KLC believes that the improvements are important to this approidmaately 0.9 mile stretch of
Alil Highway which serves as the link betwcon the Mamalaaboa Bypass Highway project
entering Keanhou from the south wand the i ului- Keauhou Parkway project C..:.. rug
Kesubou from the north. This portion of Ali! Wgbwa N cuaswucted in the raid-19601x, w=
not included in the planned improvements for either of the aforementioned projects. The
contemplated Imprvvc ments will improve traffic safety while adequately accommodating
the anticipated inereaase in the volume of traffic in this are&
Accordingly, KIC strongly urger the Hawaif County Council to approve Bail 263 requesting
the amendment of the County CfF Budget to fund the necessry improvements to A10
Drive.
