Keauhou Shopping Centers Merchant Aadviaory Committee
Subject: Afii Drive Improvements
Dear Mr. Chung;
On behalf of the Keauhou Shopping Center Merchant's Advisory Committee, we
worite to you in support of Sill No. 263 which will provide capital improvement funding on
Alii Drive. We understand that this bill in being considered by the Finance committee,
Hawaii County Council, at its meeting on October 8, 2002.
The proposed capital improvements project is specifically targeted for the
approximate 0.9 mile segment of Atli Drive thmugh Keauhou. extending between the
proposed link-up with the Marnalahos bypass read on the South and with Ali! Highway
on the Norkh. This stretch of AN Drive through Kesuhou, In its present condition and
configuration, Is not designed to accommodate the traffic flow and volume which will
onear when these two new roadway proje are opened. It will also benefit the runny
businesses at Keauhou Shopping Center.
